The process is called Giclée (pronounced "zhee-clay"). These reproductions were developed as a digital method of fine art printing. Giclée is French for "to spray on" or "to spray ink". The images are scanned from prints or a digital photo and sent directly to a high resolution, inkjet printer. The ink and surface are keys to the longevity of the print. Giclées offer deep, saturated colors and have a beautiful paint-like quality that retains meticulous detail including subtle tints and blends. The print will provide fade and color protection for up to 75 years indoors under normal lighting situations. Giclée prints can be produced on a variety of materials, which include: photo paper, watercolor paper and artist canvas. These beautiful prints have a similar look and feel to an original work of art. They can be hung right on the wall on a stretcher frame or framed professionally. We treat our prints to a UV spray coating for a small additional cost. This coating allows a shiny finish, and additional protection for a long lasting print. We can apply brushstrokes with a gel coating (top right) to make your canvas print look like a true oil painting!

Tip: We can work with TIFF, JPG, PSD, and most graphics files, but they must be high resolution. If you are not sure how your photo will reproduce, please send the image to us and we will let you know if it is of the quality and size required to make a great print.
